Spicy Garlic Miso Pork Belly

Ingredients:

  • 3 lb. slab pork belly
  • 1 tsp Sao Noi Lemongrass Chili Oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 c miso paste
  • 4 tsp hot water
  • 3 tbsp rice wine
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • green onion, chopped or sliced (for garnish)
  • sesame seeds (for garnish)

 

Instructions:

  1. Slice pork belly into 1/4-in. strips and place in medium mixing bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, combine miso paste, hot water, sesame oil, chili oil, garlic, and honey and mix until even. Add into pork belly.
  3. Add rice wine to pork belly and with both hands, mix all ingredients until combined. Let pork belly marinade for at least 30 minutes (preferably overnight) in the fridge.
  4. Remove from fridge and place pork belly strips in skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each side until evenly browned, or at least 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. Remove from heat and top with sesame seeds and green onion. Enjoy with rice!
